2015 Performance Clinic Brings Talented Kids and Coaches to StFYC

I was lucky enough to be asked to coach the Youth Olympic Training Session at StFYC last weekend.

The bay gave the kids some great opportunity to perfect heavy air sailing.  Winds 18-35 over 4 days kept the kids and coaches on their toes..  Check it out.  Olympic team for 2020...

2015 Performance Clinic Brings Talented Kids and Coaches to StFYC

This past weekend, dozens of the country's most promising young sailors gathered at StFYC for the 2015 Performance Clinic organized by US Sailing in conjunction with the St. Francis Sailing Foundation. Throughout a rigorous four days of on- and off-water training, these aspiring Olympians learned about fitness, tactics, sports psychology, weather and how to compete like Olympic champions. The list of coaches and presenters included prestigious names such as Paul Cayard, Zach Railey, Anna Tunnicliffe and Dee Smith. The Club was bursting at the seams with talented sailors who shared in an excitement and a dedication for the future of the sport.

In the end, the kids came away better sailors, better athletes and better prepared to take on the road to the Olympics.

Our own Chris Ray was there to capture the on-water talent. Check out his photos HERE or a video slideshow HERE.
